Caroline from Newberg Oregon would like to know is raw homemade carrot juice alkaline? In other words, does the juice have a pH greater than seven? The answer is yes, raw homemade carrot juice is very rich in alkaline minerals, and thus it has an alkaline effect on the bloodstream. Is this bad for your body, no of course not, as even certain waters can be alkaline. Obviously you don't want to have too many minerals in your body at any given time, and that can be avoided by moderating the level of alkaline foods that you consume on a daily basis. I limit my own intake of raw homemade carrot juice to no more than sixteen ounces per day, that way I can move on to other foods and beverages in my daily diet, and that in turns increases the diversity of nutrients that my body is receiving. So always remember when drinking any juice, that moderation is key to your overall diet. Thanks for sending us this question.
