Jay from Omaha Nebraska sent our webmaster the following question. How can I avoid tainted or contaminated carrot juice? The answer is simple, juice all of your own beverages, and absolutely avoid any unpasteurized juices that you haven't made yourself. I will not buy any form of unpasteurized juices from any store, period. In many cases the toxins that cause the contamination will permanently damage your body or vital organs, so obviously the risks just aren't worth the rewards. When you make all of your own juices at home, this means you have control over how thoroughly the produce is washed and rinsed, as well as what condition the produce is in that is being juiced. Scrub all soil from your produce, and never juice bruised or unfresh fruit. You should also avoid juicing vegetable or fruit skin that may have come into contact with any dangerous pesticides, which in many cases is hard to wash off.
