Jack from Cold Lake Alberta would like to have the following question answered. He asked, can eating carrots really improve your eyesight? Carrots and carrot juice both contain an abundant amount of vitamin A, which is vital in maintaining healthy eyesight. Your body however can only absorb and process so much vitamin A at any given time, so consuming tons of raw carrots or carrot juice will not give you extra good eyesight. Mothers telling their children that eating all their carrots will give them super eyesight is probably where some of the common confusion arose from. It should be noted that too much vitamin A within your body will actually lead to toxicity, or in some cases even encourage the growth of cancerous cells. The key to enjoying the benefits of carrots or carrot juice is moderation, in addition to a well balanced diet. Thanks for sending us this question.
