To begin the recipe first you will need to take out an electric food processor and plug it in. Next wash and rinse all of your carrots and then shred them with your food processor. Dump the shredded carrots into a glass salad bowl, then mix in the crushed deshelled walnuts, Hellmann's real mayonnaise, and finely minced garlic cloves. Mix the ingredients together until the salad has a nice and even consistency. Next place a lid on the glass bowl and slide the bowl into the refrigerator to chill for four to six hours. Serve the Russian carrot salad cold as either a side dish, or as a main course meal. For those of you who are trying to cut down on fat intake, simply substitute the standard mayonnaise for a low fat mayonnaise. For other optional ingredients, try adding in kosher salt, fresh ground black pepper, white distilled vinegar, or even a little red hot sauce to the mixture.
