Scott from Lowell Massachusetts sent us the following question. Can I drink carrot juice if I have high blood pressure? This is an answer that only your doctor can answer. Homemade raw carrot juice does have a lot of natural sugar in it, and this natural sugar can obviously elevate your blood pressure, especially if your blood sugar is really low at the time of consumption. With regards to lowering your blood pressure, carrot juice does have an abundant amount of vitamin A, vitamin C, and potassium, all of which have been shown to reduce or prevent high blood pressure. So if your goal is more preventive than treating an existing condition, then carrot juice would be a good source of essential vitamins and minerals. We appreciate the question, please don't forget to check out all of our other frequently asked questions. Cheers, and have a happy carrot juice day.
