Ernie out of El Paso Texas emailed our staff this yummy beet and carrot juice recipe. For step one you will want to wash off and rinse your fresh raw carrots and organic red beets under lukewarm tap water. Use a clean vegetable scrub brush if the produce has a large amount of soil stuck on it. Now that your veggies are clean you will next want to peel your raw carrots using either a sharp knife or potato peeler. Depending on the size of your juicer opening you may also have to quarter your carrots and beets so that they fit into they machine. Moving along next set up your juicer and equip it with a one liter size collection jug or vessel. You are now ready to start the juicing process so flip the machine on and begin slowly feeding your carrots and beets through the machine. Stop juicing after you have one liter of the orange and red colored juice. Once done you should stir the juice using a long wooden spoon as this will even out the flavor notes and texture of the juice. I'll usually drink this juice straight at room temperature and without ice. As for storing the juice, it should keep for roughly forty eight hours if kept in a sealed and refrigerated juice jar.
